SuperCrew - SNap Crackle Pop - Repaired at last..
The Snap Crackle and Pop coming from the Passenger side of my Supercrew dash has at long last been repaired.
I have lived with this loud pop for 50K miles - took it to the dealer 3 times - took the dash apart - Tried everything - Still a loud pop when going over bumps - and occasionally just because.
I'm not talking about a rattle or squeak as you could expect from any plastic dashboard - I'm talking about a pop thats so loud it scares you and sounds like a rock hitting the windsheild.
This has caused some serious grief for me since I originally purchased this vehicle. I was going freaking crazy.
Finally in a final last desparate attempt - I took it all apart again - pushed prodded pried - tightened everything in sight - And made it even worse. It seemed like something to do with the faceplate on the glovebox.
THen a stroke of genius- I slightly loosened (NOTE) not tightened - the screws that hold the plastic face plate on the glove box.
And silence at last...God I hate plastic..
It's amazing how something so simple can literally turn a 30K dollar truck into a rattling popping piece of crap.
