seat belt
Hey does anyone know how to remove the latch that you plug the seat belt into??? Mine is worn out and will not secure anymore. The dealer would charge me $60 so I would rather pay $25 and do it myself. Any information is appreciated.

I don't know if you can remove just the latch.
I guess you have the 40-60 split bench?
And it is the drivers side latch worn out?
Looks like you have to remove the driver's seat or the passengerside seat to get at the 'single' bolt holding the shortside belt on.
It is shorter than the passengerside belt so you can't swap with yourself but, there has to be a junkyard around with a '97-'02 F150 in it. (Color shouldn't matter cause you can use your old sleeve)

I'm not certain that I understand what part needs to be replaced. Is it the part that the buckle goes into on your right side???
If it is, this is easy to replace but the drivers seat needs to be removed. After the seat is out of the truck, you'll see that it's pretty simple. There is just a single bolt. There is also a wire connected the seat belt warning light though. Don't forget to unplug that.

I heard of it it has something to do with some federal law since they require seat belts installed on new cars and trucks but there may be a limit on that like so many years and so many miles not sure on it only way to find out is go to the dealer.
