Hey dsm,
The best product out there that I know of for leather is Lexol, it's a two part system with a cleaner and conditioner. ,,,98

Yup, Lexol is GREAT stuff. I trust it to my King Ranch Edition's leather.

get it at your local feed and tack store or tractor supply store in the horse section.

I would avoid putting conditioners on the steering wheel. It will either be sticky or slippery. The leather on the steering wheels is cheap and will wear off regardless. The only thing I can suggest is a wheel cover or adjust your habits..

ie. hand over hand turning and return (instead of letting it slide through your hands) and don't grip the wheel too hard.

Wink

Lexols' conditioner soaks in and disappears after a few minutes. There's no worry of having a slippery wheel. You think those Mercedes drivers would put up with a stain on their Armani suit for one second??,,,,98

Actually, I live in a humid area and the Lexol tends to get sticky. What I learned to do is to use the Lexol cleaner first, then wipe two or three times with a damp cloth. Then I rub the Lexol conditioner into the leather with my fingers and let it sit for a while. The instructions say to buff off the excess, but that never seems to work well for me, so what I started doing was to wipe the leather with a damp cloth. I figured the conditioner will have been absorbed into the leather and all I'm doing is cleaning off the excess from the surface.

Been doing that for a while now and seems to really keep the leather in top shape.
