Same problem here...

I have a 1997 F150 with the same problem...vinyl like finish is peeling off the top of the steering wheel. I thought about buying a leather wrapped steering wheel from ford until I saw the price. Also would have to replace the wheel...I think I am going to buy a grant carbon fiber cover.

You can buy a used replacement steering wheel on eBay for between $35.00-$50.00 or a new one sometimes shows up for around $100.00.

Wheelskins are nice too. The leather is soft and makes the wheel thicker and easier to grip if you have large hands.

If your truck is under warranty then ford will replace it for free. If you are close to your warranty (like I was) then you can negotiate the price. I got them to put the new leather on the wheel for $100. If you aren't close to the warranty then it is like $450 to replace the leather. Apparently they have to take the steering wheel off to do it and that is why it costs so much! Hope this helps...

Lightbulb COVER ?

If your truck is out of warranty just go and get a cover for it at Wal-mart or something.
