2002 sun visor modification question

Traded my 98 f-150 for 2002. On the 02, ford has lowered the visor about an inch by adding a post where visor connects to headliner on mirror side. (i guess for short people) 98 fit flush with headliner. I drive about 50,000 miles a year and used to keep 3 different state maps above my visor. In the 02 you can't put anything above the visor.

Could i replace the 02 visor connector closest to rear view mirror with 98 connector? Are the visors the same? The little plastic part can't be more than a few bucks.

The 98 had more storage in the door panels, the little cubbie hole by the lighters is gone, no elastic strap on visor for insurance card ect., and the console is smaller. 98 had better ride. 02 has better sounding stereo.

I miss my mint 98 but it had piston slap for 80,000 miles and I unloaded it at 140,000 miles for the 0% intrest.

I purchased a pair of the "visor wallets" sold at Target, Wal-Mart, etc. They strap on the visors, have zipper pockets for storage, etc. You can also put maps, etc. under the straps. I put one on each visor and they work great! They have two or three colors available... the charcoal gray matches the interior of my 2000 F150.
