Carseat won't fit!
I baught a 2001 F-150 regular cab, then found out my wife was pregnant. I figured the carseat would fit in the center of the 60\40 split bench, but the carseat i have is too big for me to shift. does anyone have this problem, and if so, what model of carseat do you have that allows you to shift?
You're in a jam here. Since the carseat has to face backward, all of them will impede in your ability to shift. I had a Ford Ranger std cab when our child was born. Had to put the carseat in the passenger seat, allowing for no passengers. Had to use my wifes car for family travels.
You may not like the idea, but I urge you to see if you can trade it for a xtra cab at least. You think the child seat is in the way? heh, now add diaper bags, toy and book bags, etc.....
Been there, done that, and wouldn't have anything less than a xtra cab.
Good luck.

I guess you have the bench seat? A regular cab truck doesn't make a good 'only' vehicle but, is a good 'second' vehicle. The carseat has to be in the passenger side with the passenger airbag turned off. This will work fine with daddy and baby OR mommie and baby. If all three travel together and another vehicle isn't an option then an adult has to 'ride the hump'.
I still have a child at home but, not in a carseat. The uncomfortable 'middle spot' keeps the miles off my truck.
