Had a windshield replaced on a 2018 Raptor and the rearview mirror cover/housing was poorly reinstalled. Today I grabbed it to remove and realign and the whole mirror popped off. The base plate is still attached to the windshield but I cannot get the mirror to snap back in place. It has some type of 4-point clamp and I cannot get it to pop back on with direct or twisting action. Other than having the Safelite guy come back out Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks
I'm not a big fan of Safelite. Everyone that I know of that has used them, all needed them to come back out for something. Plus it seems like the glass they use is cheap.
Personally, I'd rather have my local dealer do it.
I know that on the '04-'08 F150's they have a F-150 decal that Safelite doesn't put on.
Update...I did go to safelite and he just placed it on the mount about at 10 o'clock and then gave it a good twist back to 12 o'clock and it clicked into place. I did try that but I could see the sensor (glued to windshield) starting to twist and I would rather have him break that part than me. Thanks.
