Question Trim Around Ignition Switch???

Can someone tell me how to remove this trim, I have removed all the screws and the bottom piece of trim but it looks like the switch plate around the key hole has to be removed to remove the top piece. ANYONE?

Thanks Ed

Your talking about the plastic cover over the ignition switch, the one you use to turn the key? This is a non-removable piece of the ignition switch, but the switch does come out easily though. Look on the bottom of the lower trim piece, there is hole there directly under the ignition switch. Push a (small) phillips screwdriver or other pointed round tool into this hole. You may have to poke around a little to find the release button, but it's there. While pushing in the button slowly turn the key to the on position, and with a little wiggling the whole switch and trim plate should pop right out in your hand. Good luck.,,,,98

Putting in a set of guages?

Thats right just turn the switch to the on postion-look under the switch and poke a scewdriver or somthing small into the hole and push the putton. After that pull the switch out--thats it

screamer--sound more like a remote start to me

Guys,

Thanks for the response....The part is actually a plastic cap and can be removed by prying out on it. Of course, I discovered this while trying to get the piece of trim around it.....you do not need to remove the whole switch. Screamer, I think as long as you don't have all your gadgets turn on at start up it really doesn't matter about your alternator.....
