Changing seats ?
I am going to be changing my stock bench seat in my 2000 reg cab and was wondering how hard it is to do this and how to go about doing it? Also where where can I get a tool for the bolts that hold them down? Thanks for the info.

nope no one wants to help yet im hoping to get some soon. Ive really been looking at the truck trying to figure it out, I dont think itll be too hard. I need to get some more bolts though.
My truck was a base model and has the bench seat that doesn't even recline. So I found the 60/40 split bench seat with the fold down console out of another 2000 f-150.

I replaced my bench seat with steel horse leather bucket seats. What an improvement. There were only four nuts holding the seat on. Two torx bits in front (55) and regular hex nuts in back. With a little help it shouldn't take more than 5-10 mins. to remove and about the same to install new ones.
I can help you with any install details you need. But since I am a vendor, I can't post them here. If you e-mail me at dcnchevy@aol.com, I will help you with whatever you are needing.

Im also interested in replacing my bench seat. I was aiming toward the two bucket seats (preferably in leather) but im not sure what to do about the back. Lariat F-150's come staock with leather so i was wondering if i could take the back seat out of one of those?
another thing i was wondering about is what to do with the center console? With two bucket seats, that leaves a gap in the middle. Any suggestions on where to get a console that would fit and look good?
I recently changed my seats from the standard bouncy bench to a couple of buckets from a Dodge Neon I purchased from the local wrecking yard. I like them a lot better than the old seat but they don't come close to being a perfect fit.
I had to drill all new holes to mount them and they still don't line up because the raised part of the floor wasn't quite wide enough to mount the driver seat directly behind the wheel. It's pretty close though and doesn't bother me any. I also have a little more room between the seat and door. If you hunt its a good place to keep your rifle now.
Another thing that didn't work out too well was that the seats don't flip forward enough to do any good. Since it's a regular cab they dont need to recline.
As for a console, I bought the Profile mini-van console made by Steel-Horse which leaves just enough room to shift with a large drink in the cup holder (about 3").
Besides the extra comfort the seats provide they also discourage that third passenger that always makes shifting difficult. I'll be getting a canopy with a slider to accomidate extra passengers eventually.

I have the captains chairs and full console, but I want th ebench seat out of a lightning. Too bad you never find any lightnings in local wrecking yards that haven't already had the seats swiped, LOL.
