Question about something on the dash

As I've posted earlier... I have a 2006 f150 lariat that I just got and I was looking around on the dash and I've found something that I'm not sure I know what it is. OK right under the info, setup, and reset buttons there is like a vent thing. I have no idea what it's for. Any answers?

Sensor for the climate control or a microphone grille.

its the intake for the automatic climate control. it monitors the air temp so that the system can adjust fan speed and temp to match whatever you set it to. but its only used on the digital one. i have it on my 06 fx4 luxury package...theres a hose attached to it with a sensor.
