interior driver side door wont open

interior driver side door wont open
Just bought a '92 F150 Custom and the driver side door doesn't. Open from the inside. When I bought it thought it was just a broken handle so I replaced it but still won't open, any suggestions?

you've probably already checkded this but... as far as I know there should be a linkage connecting the door handle to the door release mechanism, is it still attached at both ends?

Got it figured out, the cable was the wrong size it was too long! Huge difference, no longer have to open the door from the outside!
