2001 f150. How do you remove the top oval piece on top of dash? I want to repaint it. Thanks.

 

In case you haven't figured it out yet, there are clips all around the piece. Just squeeze your fingers in and start working your way around the piece very carefully due to how thin the piece is. Also just wondering if you knew I took my piece off earlier to see how hard it was to remove (I want to replace mine due to the paint chipping also) and on the under side there is something plugged into it under what looks like a vent opening.
