heater problems
i have the 98 f150 and the heater has 4 settings. lo then two dots then hi the first three setting seem to be the same and then just hi blows more air.. if i recall correctly there was a greater difference in the first three settings in the past... anyone know anything about this? also i have problems with the washer fluid when i push the button the wipers always move but only occasionally does the fluid come out...??
ok i called the dealer and they said that it could be either a blower motor or a resistor. after doing some more research i found an old forum and someone said that if it only works on hi it is the Blower Motor Resistor Assembly does anyone know where this is? they said by the blower i believe but im not sure how to get to that either any help greatly appreciated.. its cold here in pittsburgh

Hi there all, I have a 2000 F150, at fis=rst I smelled coolent coming out of the vents but the heater was working just fine, good heat but becuase of the smell I assumed there there was a leak in the core so I flushed the system and add a Preston stop leak and at first the smell went away but I notices that the there was hardly any heat coming out, the fan is blowing great but very low heat I'm thinking that I my need to change the heater core, does any one have any idea??
Try disconnecting the hoses that run into the heater core from the engine compartment.
(remember to mark what hose goes where ) and take the garden hose and back flush the heater core...this might Help. and remeber to hook the heater core hoses back up.
