Front dome light replacement

My passenger side dome light is out. How do you get to the bulb?

This is on a 2006 XLT Ext. Cab--common/standard set up. It has the sunglasses/storage door with the push lens on/off switch for the lights. I don't know if the whole thing comes down or something right there where the lens are located.

Thanks for your assistance!

Search my name. I just had a thread going about this very thing. My 06 xlt dome lite. You have to push in on the sides of the ''console'' and pull down really hard. It will come down and go right back up. Good luck

Man, once you know to just pull the dang thing off, you really feel silly asking how to do it

Thanks, Cuz for relaying the information. I got the bulb replaced over my lunch half hour...

Glad you got it out. As you can see from my thread I had hell with mine. It was my passenger side too, weird.

Now on to the mirror control, I think it shorted out during a rain storm. Yes, the window was down and I wasn't home. Now my mirrors only go up. Hopefully I can clean the contacts and it will start working again.

Well, it took a new mirror lever switch which was only $30. Now I can control my mirrors again.

That takes care of my short list, next item is running/nerf boards.
