Headliner Removal for 2005 SuperCrew?????

I have searched and searched on this subject, but can not find a definitive answer anywhere, so I'm really hoping to find someone who has done it.

In my searching the last few weeks here on this site and on others, I've seen everything from you need to remove the back window to removing all interior trim but leave window in, etc.

I have put a suede headliner in almost all of my vehicles and want this one done now too. I plan on doing this one as well as the speaker grills too. I just need to get the damn thing out.

So before I start tearing into the interior panels and all that, can someone who has done this or maybe has pictures or a writeup on it clue me in on how? It's a FX4 SuperCrew w/ moonroof.

Thank you

ive removed mine but i dont have a sunroof. its not hard for one without a moon roof you just have to take off a few of the parts like your saying that you can tell would stop the headliner from coming down... and let me know what you use to do your headliner bc ive tried doing mine in suede 3 times and everytime it ends up starting to fall down... i even bought a spray glue gun and everything to do it

Since yours isn't a SuperCrew it will be much easier. I've researched it extensively and people have definitive answers for the single and supercab, but nothing on the SuperCrew. Some say it requires rear glass removal and others say it doesn't. I just want to know what I'm in for before I get started from someone who has actually done it.

I've done suede on about 15 headliners total including my own vehicles, so I'm not worried about that part. I just need the info on how hard or tricks to remove it. The right glue and the right prep and it works no problem. I've got friends that I've done the work for 2-3 years ago and they are still holding fine even after the crazy TX heat.

i honestly dont see why you would have to take out your rear window but maybe you can call the ford dealership and just ask them?

I don't trust any Ford dealer any further than I can throw them. All they want is money and to see what they can get outta me. No dealer around here is worth a crap.

For prepping the headliner, I use a carpet cleaner called Folex. It's a white spray bottle with purple letters. I get it at the local grocery store and use it in all my cleaning and detailing of cars that I do. I use it and lightly dab all over the headliner to make sure its as clean as possible. Let it dry or spray it off with air if you have access to it.

Make sure you get a high quality material and pay for the good stuff. The crappy suede wouldn't stick to the floor with superglue so you gotta make sure its good stuff.

Adhesive is either a good quality spray adhesive in a paint gun and air compressor if you have access to one, or the good 3M 90 adhesive spray in a spray can.

3M makes several strengths (50,75, and 90 I believe). The 90 is a green can and can be bought at home depot in the paint aisle.

To apply it you just kind of have to experiment and see what works best for you. All the prep and materials won't work if you don't know how to apply it all correctly. It takes quite a bit of practice but can be figured out with a lot of patience and a steady and slow hand.
