My dog

hey everyone! i have an 04 lariat screw 4x4 and love to have my dog ride with me. When he is in the truck he likes to hang his head and body out of the window. There is one slight problem with that..... he is a boxer and he is big and he has claws!! I have the black interior and I'm not too concerned about the leather but I am concerned about the black plastic that he rests his feet on when he is getting a breath of fresh air. It isn't flat so he always has to readjust his paws because he keeps sliding. Anyone have any suggestions to prevent scratching or gauging of the plastic that you rest your arm on and the part by the window. Thanks for the help.

Take your dog to the vet and have his nails trimmed? I have the same problem with my black labs I dont think there is anything you can do.

There are several products out there you can get to put in place to keep damage from happening. I've had several "Canine Covers" products and always liked them, my Maggie was even on their testimonials page before they took that down...

I have a boxer also and my wife clips his nails herself. She uses regular finger nail clippers and we don't have any problem. Just don't clip to far or you hurt him.

I have the same problem with my Jack Russel. The plastic on my door is quite slippery and he can't hold himself up. Which leads to him getting mad and barking the entire way to where ever we're going. I've been trying to figure out some type of material I can put down that'll give him better grip, and keep my doors from being all scratched up

Also I have seen them never used them but they have plastic nail caps that you glue on your dogs nails for just such a thing. Prvents scratching wood floors and truck interiors. Check out Drs Foster & Smith online.
