Leather Lariet Seat and Rain...

Ok this is strange.. I have the light tan leather lariet seats in my truck.. When I open the door and rain gets on the seat a little bit it leaves little lighter colored spots.. they do not go away .. so then I have to break out the maquire's and clean the seat to make them look right again.. Also every time I use maquires the rag is always tan when I get thru polishing .. Is it possible the previous owner dyed the seat and now its coming off ??? How would I fix this..

My 2001 does the same thing. I REALLY don't like it, but I deal with it.. I'd love to hear a fix if somebody has one too.

You could always look into ordering new seat covers, but that can get pricey quick.

I'm starting to get some dark spots on my tan leather too ('07 screw), mainly on the very lower part of the back and the rear of the seat. It almost looks like the color is wearing off, but I bought it new. I've tried cleaning it, but it almost looks like cleaning makes it worse. I'm using the high-dollar Lexol stuff.

I'm wondering if it's gonna get worse with time and if so, should I take it in before the 3-36 warranty expires. I'm wondering if Ford dyes their seats, and the dye is wearing off?

I left the sunroof open by mistake on a sunny day and it ended up pouring the rain all night needless to say my leather seats felt like a sponge for about 3 days and did discolor but over time they returned to the original condition. I did use leather treatments before this happened and quickly after, that may have helped a bit

maybe go by the ford parts and buy some of their leather conditioner. it maybe pricey but could be worth it.
