I have a 04 XL its plane jane on the inside. I was wanting to get an aftermarket tach but I'm skeptical about mounting it due to the wholes in the dash it would leave if I decide to remove it. Any suggestions on where to put it. Also I was wondering if it was possible to remove the center seat with the fold down compartment.

 

Have you looked into a gauge swap? Sweet FX4 gauges are for sale I think in the classified.

 

yeah but with it being so plane will it have the wiring for a tach behind the guages?

 

Put your key in the ignition don't turn it on..

Press and hold your odometer reset button..

Turn key to on position and release the odometer button after a couple seconds..

Start truck

Push odometer button till it says tach in the little window where your mileage used to be.

Don't worry the odometer will be back the next time you start the truck. It is a one time deal unless you do it every time you start your truck.
