Can any one tell me if the the compass/tempature gauge in the over head console is a dealer only item or could I go to the local parts store to get it.
It started to have problems about a year and half ago during the blizzard hear in denver, it would go off and I would tap on it and it would come back on. Now it does nothing. ooh its in a 2002 f150xlt

 

have you checked it to see if you have a loose connection or a short?

 

I did awhile ago and everthing looked fine. Thats what I thought it was but then it just stopped working

 

check fuses. but i really doubt thats it because thats the only thing not working.

so its not working at all now even if you tap it?

 

yep taping it doesnt work any more.I called the dealer and he told me that this perticular part is.... $312.00 bucks. I think he's full aof crap personaly.He sounded pissed,but on the other hand every other time ive the dealer they have sounded pissed also. Is it realy possible that it cost that much?

 

shew thats odd I have an 02 f150xlt and myn went out, and it would work after tapping and now nothing i will call my dealer and see how much it would be
