Leather Repair for steering wheel

What is the best way to repair the leather on the steering wheel. What was once a small scratch is starting to spread. 07 SC w/tan leather.

If it is not under warranty any longer...any other options?
Mine has a couple of spots where it is peeling and I am guessing I will need/want to put a cover on it, just not sure what cover is best.

The top of my steering wheel actually rotted ,, from the sun... I am planning on letting the leather man in Jackson fix it when he does my seats.. The seat repair will be 175.00 and the steering wheel an extra 25.00 but for now I did this
