I recently had a new XM module installed in my truck and ever since the install, the ashtray has either been sticking horribly or won't stay shut.

I brought this up to the installers and they swear they had nothing to do with it. Since I can't prove they broke it, looks like I'll probably have to fix it.

Just a few hours ago, it came open and now it won't shut at all.

I pulled off the wood trim around the stereo and can see how the ashtray tilts back, but it's not catching when it closes. It looks like it may be magnetic...but I can't tell.

Can anyone give me some advice into how this thing works so I can try to figure out what is wrong?
