Water in the cab ( Help)

I have a 04 super cab F-150 FX4. I purchased the truck with 12,500 on the odometer and it now has about 25k. During a routine cleaning I notice about an inch of water pooled up under the rear seat, on the passenger side. I removed the plastic trim that separates the carpet from the door jamb. This exposed a channel that the wiring harness runs trough. The entire channel had filled with water. If this is a common problem and some one could steer me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Other wise I will just be pulling out the seats and carpet in hopes that the problem is obvious. This occured from normal driving on wet roads in the Pacific NW. Thanks in advance!

There are usually extra holes drilled in that channel and should be plugged if not used, check for any unplugged holes. It could also be leaking down from the door seal, so check that. A plugged up A/C drain usually gets the front passenger floor wet, but you might check that too.

some folks also have problems with their rear windows leaking and also the there have been issues with 3rd brake lights leaking

I believe that Ford had TSB's or recalls on this

do a search under the 2004+ forum

Unhappy

Hey thank you guys for the information. I think the problem is comming from the front passenger area and saturating the back as my drive way is on a incline. I gonna buck up and pull out the seats and carpet.

Thanks.

third tail light

check the foam gasket on the cargo light. mine was bent out of shape and let water in that pooled under the passenger side rear seat. all i did was take light assembly off with a screw driver realign gasket to proper position and screw back on the assembly.
