been looking on line for oem replacement dash parts, specifically the black piece located on the center lump by 4x4 shifter (on some) or also to the right of the gas pedal. the piece that has 2 air vents in it. i can't find this piece any where.

Call a dealer parts department, or go there. They have diagrams and can order most parts if they are being made still.

 

I was looking for the same piece for my 2004. I found that it only comes with the entire dash/radio fascia. Found a few on eBay.
