Couldn't find this on a quick search...Some of the lights under my power window and door lock switches have gone out. How do I remove the arm rest on the driver's side so that I can get access?

 

I believe that you have to take the whole door panel off. But more people will chime in with correct respones!!

 

Just use a small pry bar (screw driver) and pop open the control console. You may have to remove the trim around the door handle first by inserting a small screw driver in the slot above the door handle and press down and pull out the plastic cover. Then remove the two bolts behind the cover.

Let me know if you are able to make the lights for your switches work again. The lights for both of the front window switches on my truck are out. I haven't had time to take my armrest apart yet. I think there are loose connections because occasionally one of the switches will light up temporarily.

 

The problem is with the solder points on the illumination board. Requires solder on either side of the resistor for all non-working lights. Bigger job than I thought it would be, but not horrible if you've used a soldering iron before.

 

Unfortunately, I have not used a soldering iron before. Oh well....I guess I will just let them go. I certainly don't want to pay for the dealer to fix/replace it.
