Thin foam pieces stain seats in 2001 F150
Thin foam pieces stain seats in 2001 F150
For the past few months, pieces of "foam" (approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch by 1/32 thick) appear on my cloth seats.
I can pick them off and they remain intact, but if someone sits on the piece,
it turns into a black/brown greasy stain and is very difficult to remove.
I have been using "zout" to remove the stains and they eventually come off.
I live in Houston, Texas and I suspect the heat of disintegrating the foam, but I cannot find the source? The door speakers, headliner, vents and door seals look like obvious suspects. I have placed white sheets over the speakers and slammed the doors, ditto with the vents blowing full force.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Does anyone know if there is any "hidden warranty" on this by Ford.
I love my 2001 F150 Super Crew, but may have to trade if the problem costs too much to fix.
Thanks for your help.
