Question Flow-Through Center Console

Ok, so i have an 05 SCab XLT with the folding front center seat/ center console. I'm not really liking it any more and i've always loved the look of the other type of center console that is attached to the dash and has the flow through (I think that's what it's called) type shifter. Anybody know where i would be able to get one of these, and how much it'd cost to buy it and get it put in? Do i have to buy something else for my dash or a completely new front dash piece for it to fit right? I'm just a little worried that it'll be more expensive since you have to mess with relocating the shifter and it just sounds like a mess to me. any shared knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks guys

You could probably swap out the bench seats for buckets seats and put the console in but I would leave the shifter on the stearing column otherwise you would probably be spending a ridiculous amount of money to convert everything. You would have to fill the shifter hole...make it another set of cup holders. As for whether the dash would have to be swapped out I don't know.

I think it would be easier just to buy a lariat or fx4 and pay the 695 for the captain chairs. The other way sounds like a headache.

Do a search, I seem to recall write ups on the conversion.

i know exactly what ya mean, i have the same problem, right now i think your best bet is to just try and locate the XLT style center console rather than the whole FX4/Lariat style it would be much much cheaper and you wouldnt have to mess with the dash, but the only problem is trying to find one, hah thats what im trying to do now.

I'd trade with you if you didn't mind going through the trouble.
