tint brand & % ?

For those of you that have tinted your own front windows on your 04'-07' F150,
What tint (brand and %) did you use to match the factory tint on the rear windows? I am trying to get the closest match possible on the inside and outside.
Thanks for any help

Check the aftermarket/appearance products forum a few weeks back, there were 3 threads on window tinting with good info in them. I tinted my front windows with SolarGard HP Smoke 20% from snaptint.com. It's a pretty close match but I doubt if you'll ever get a perfect match. Looks the same from outside, inside is just a shade different color.

They precut it for you so the quick story is all you have to do is peel and stick. Others have also reported being happy with snaptint.com, and I've recommended them to family and friends who've also been happy. I think it's around $35 shipped for the front windows, check out their site if you want more info.

I don't think you can get an exact match on the factory windows, but I also went with 20% on the 2 front doors. Now I want the rear half done.

I had 20% put on all the windows, and the rear windows are probably 5% now. I am happy with that. 3M makes a goog quality film, thats what I have now. Also, Llumar mages good film, too. I had a VW with Llumar for about 6 years. No problems with it.

Here's a pic of a tinted windshield from another thread, in aftermarket/appearance products.

What are the laws about tinting? I know my friend got popped out near Binghamton (middle of no-where near the city) for having over-tint regulations and was a $200 fine! Don't mean to steal the thread but I was just wondering...I want to tint, but the Marines will move me quite a bit, so I don't want to get hammered in a different Camp in different states.

The local tint laws only apply if you have your vehicle registered in that state. You may also want to check with your SP's sq. to find out if the base has a specified tint law, I have heard that some do.

I ordered the 20% from snaptint.com as well, although it has not arrived yet. For those that have installed, is it a hard process? Did anyone order the installation tools?

Llumar ceramic 15% on the front. They match the factory back windows perfectly.
