Burnt Seats!!! Need Help!

I had a cigarrette lighter explode in my 02 super crew. This situation burnt a hole in my seats, passenger and driver. The driver seat was burnt all the way through to the carpet before I was able to put it out.

Anyway....my question is...are the Ebay seat covers worth the time, and would anyone have any input on replacing the foam on the seat pan?

thank you for any positive input.
joe

Holy Crap. I dont think that seat covers are going to fix your problem. It looks like the padding was burnt as well. Seat covers are just that, seat covers. You need to have the bottom part of your seat completely redone..

Best best would to take your truck to an apolstery shop and have them fix it!

holy ****! that looks bad! anyway, an upholstery shop can perform miracles, at a reasonable cost. take it to one, and they should be able to track down a book w/ samples to get the same cover in your truck to get an exact match. they also can get new padding as well. just stop in, they do great work, and you will not be able to tell the seat was reupholstered when they are done. i got my driver's seat reupholstered due to burn holes, and trust me, when they are done, the seat will look immaculate! Also, post pics when seat is repaired.

If you get the take-offs you should get the same exact thing you have now. There are several on here that have replaced their cloth with the leather take-offs off of ebay. I replaced mine with a set of aftermarket leather replacements I found on ebay with no real problems.

ok i got a smoke lit it then sat my lighter and pack of smokes in my front seat with my windows down and my driver door open, while it was siiting there i was outside playing with my new pup for like 15 min, then all of a sudden i hear a poof and i look up in my truck and all i see is flames, i never moved so quick in my life. i took my shirt off and tried to put it out that way but that didnt work and while trying to do that i burned the **** out of my hand, then i rememberd that i had a water bowl for my new pup ran inside grab it and trew it on the fire and it put it out, and what really pissed me off the lighter that blew up, i bought it that day like 5 hours before it happend, messed up ant it

Sounds like someone should have call a lawyer. Then the question would have been "Should I buy a FX4 F150 or F250?".

Silver lining

There would have been a second poof from all the methane I released after I crapped my pants. This is a golden opportunity for you to spend some extra money on upgrades that your wife thinks you really don't need. We are counting on you, don't let us down. Please post pics.

P.S. At least you didn't put the lighter in your front pocket. You can always replace seat covers.

I see some really nice racing seats in your future!

I've heard of lighters spontaneously igniting in people's pockets, but never sitting on a seat. Wild!
