Water Stains

I have an 05 f150 with the light grey interior. I like it, but the god damn seats get stained by water. Is there anything I can find to clean those stains out. Also is there any product that cleans the interior excellient.

Check with your local autobody paint supply store. They should have professional strength products [3M brands].

My 06's interior did the same thing. I installed leather, now no more ugly stains.

That can really be a pain. Some material is just sensitive like that and also it can be that when it gets wet it tends to wick up dirt and dust that's in the cushion below the fabric and pull it to the surface. There are professional products designed to combat that but I'm not aware of a way for the public to get them. If it's that big of a deal you could talk to a pro about it.

Otherwise here's my .02 on it. Do a wet cleaning and extract it well, a real hot water extractor is best but hot water and a shop vac can also be used. Just extract the living daylights out of it so that it's as dry as possible. This will get as much deep down dirt out.

Then after it dries you'll probably see some more spot come up to the surface. Then I'd take some spot cleaner (Chem-Dry is my personal favorite) and lightly spray the spots and use a clean white towel to scrub them out. Try to use something that's not soapy as the surfactants in the soaps tend to cause more wicking up of spots.

After you get all the spots taken care of, get some Scotchguard or other high quality fabric protector and douse those seats in it. Spray it on and then rub in in with a clean white towel, this will help with penetration. After it's dried completely do it again to ensure total coverage. This will go a long ways in keeping the spots from coming back since moisture will have a much more difficult time penetrating the fabric. Good Luck!
