odd sounds when rolling windows up/down

my front drivers side window and occasionally my passenger side front window make a weird shaky noise while rolling up or down..the driver side makes it every time and im starting to notice the passenger side doing it just a little bit as the window rolls almost completely down..its almost like a groan..and you can see the window kind of stutter as it moves..almost as if the tracks need lubrication so the window could slide easier without making any noise...any ideas on how i could remedy this?

i was thinking if i needed new motors then i would have noticed a change in the speed of the windows rolling up or down and i havent...like they would move slower or something..and all of mine pretty much roll up/down at the same speed but i just have the front two making the groaning noise from time to time

Just wait... they'll start slowing down here soon. Mine started making the noise a couple months before they started slowing down. When it was really cold they wouldn't even make it all the way down. Now that it's warmer they go down all the way, but their moan'n and groan'n all the way down.

ok, so how much are the window motors and where is the best place to get them at? dealership, discount parts place, specific internet site? and how much of a pain in the rear are they to install..because this groaning has to stop soon...and i would rather replace them now when they are starting to fail them have them fail on me with the windows stuck down or something of that nature...

I bought mine at my local Ford dealer and they were around $70 each. As for the removal and installation, it's fairly simple.

I recently had to replace both front passenger and drivers window motors. Thank goodness it was under warranty. I would get them replaced soon before they may get stuck in the down position.
