Hey guys, I have a 2004 4X2 XL with a 4.6L
It has the really basic XL instrument cluster of course. I want to know if it is a pain in the butt to put a cluster from an XLT or FX4, etc?
Has anybody done this?

 

I know that on the 97 - 03's that the upgraded clusters just plug in, so it should be the same on the newer models too.

 

I wanted to do the same thing...but couldn't figure the tach...let me know if you get it!

should just be a remove & unplug with the old, and plug in & install with the new.

 

I have been wanting to upgrade my XLT for a lariat or Fx4 but my service guy at ford tells me that its a whole different wire harness out back. I was looking to do the digital AC controls too...

im trying to see if anyone that has one out will get me a pic of the plug connections out back to match them with my XLT

 

If I've learned anything about anything, that is that for ever 1 good service advisor there are 15 that probably couldn't tell you how to change your oil.
