Rear view mirror help
I have a 2003 F150 xlt rc. The rear view mirror and metal base fell off the other day. It took a lot of doing to get the metal base out of the mirror bracket so I could glue it back on the windshield. After getting this done, I can not force the mirror completly down the metal base to snap it back in place. Note the 2003 mirror does not have a set screw that I can find. Can anyone help with this? Is there a special tool for this? Or do I just push harder.
Thanks,

No offense taken, as that is possible, but not in this case, the mirror will not even start to slide down the metal base except from the top down. The base has the curved edges at the top. It actually took two screwdrivers to get the base out of the mirror. One to pry up the base above the molded plastic, and then another to pry from the other end forward to slide the metal base out. I don't know what you would do if you had to remove the mirror while the base is still glued to the windshield.
Thanks for the reply though.
