this crap is driving me insane. I have an 04 SCrew and the dash has this squeak. It is not loud but very annoying. I tracked down what piece it is that is making the noise but I don't know what to do about it? Just cruising slow on a smooth road still has the noise and it's pssing me off. It seems like this dash has 10 different sections which doesn't help with rattles and squeaks. Anyone have a solution to shutting this thing up?

Had the same thing, tightened a few screws here and there, pushed on some things to see if maybe a loose clip etc. Sometimes it fixes, often it just goes away on it's own. Plastic is temperature sensitive, be patient, it goes away with age.

 

If it's plastic against plastic then foam tape one piece and cut out spots for the clips or screws. If it's too thick cut it in half.

That should muffle it.

 

KHardin1, I understand your frustration. I have an 06 with less than 1500 miles on it. I was on a wash boardy road this weekend and I'll be damned if the driver side dash has something clunking like it is loose in there. I am gonna have to get that fixed, or I will go nutty!

 

Yeah I have a problem with my 2006 FX4 Crew with the ash tray rattling when it is closed.

 

Geesus this is a bit off topic, but...........

This Labor day weekend I took my 06 Stang Gt on a 1300 mile trip. Got home and I have a squeak in the damn dash.

Come on Ford! Lets at least try to build, to keep this crap from happining!
