Leather repair

Fortunately this isn't a question about the 150!! The bad news is it's about my custom leather sofa. Quick insight to the problem. I let my mother move back in with me because she is single and can't afford to live on her own ... blah blah blah I'm regretting it. She brought a cat with her and it has enjoyed sprinting around the house and has done alot of damage to my stuff.

Anyway have you ever tried repairing leather before? What works and what should I stay away from?

I'd recover the sofa with the skin of that cat after I killed it.
