Question Cabin Air Filter DIY

Is there a way to make a cabin filter kit at home? The filter can be purchased locally but the hardware is hard to find and expensive. By looking at where it mounts, I guess I need to cut the opening and then find a way to keep the filter in place, by using a bracket of some sort. Any ideas?

need more info

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Give me some more info, becuase I am interested in this. What type of filter are you wanting to use? Why do you want to filter the air?
About mounting the filters I do not have to many ideas, but as far as what type of filtration you are trying to gain I do. The best filter would be a HEPA(High Efficiency Particulate Air) Filter, however, I have no idea if you can get them that small. Most other air filters will do very minimal against particles smaller than .5 microns in size (about the size of pollen). Then HEPA filters are also extremely delicate, however they filter out 99.99% of ALL particles.
