How do you take the paint off of radio buttons?

Hey guys, I want to take the smoking symbol off of my car lighter and am not sure how I should go about it. I was hoping if anybody had any suggestion on how to do, should I go ahead and use paint thinner or what? Any help is appreciated. I am not a smoker and that symbol is bothering me. Thanks.

I would try a little bit of accetone. Maybe water it down a little so it doesn't eat the plastic. You could also try some super fine sandpaper.

Acetone will soften it almost instantly, causing the white from the symbol to melt in with the black plastic, causing you a headache and an unsightly look. better would be a weaker paint thinner, or just use some black spray paint

Or you can go buy a new cig lighter that doesnt have that on it. They make aluminum ones and lots of diff. styles.

You could remover the lighter entirely and put in a useful guage or something.
