Exclamation Velcro on Dash?

I have a 05 F150 XL. I recently got the ScanGauge and have it sitting loosely on the far left side of the dash. Of course it moves around with every bump, etc. For me it’s the best place because I can see it at a glance. I ran the wire under the weather stripping – thanks jrbhc8 for the idea.

I want to mount it so it doesn’t move around. Does anyone know if I could harm the dash using an adhesive Velcro strip? Would it discolor later if I removed the Velcro? Any other concerns using Velcro on the dash?

I thought about mounting it to the window with a suction mount using various RAM components, but that’s more complicated & expensive.

Any suggestions?

If it's more of a short term mount, I don't think you'd have any problems.

Obviously, if you let it stay there for years and years, you run the risk of leaving a spot that might not look the same as the remaining portion of the dash because of light fading.
