Post Squeaky Headliner.....Sounds like plastic ??

When traveling down the road I hear this annoying noise coming from the headliner bouncing up and down. It sounds like the plastic inside is scratching when the headliner moves up and down slightly....Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have a solution for this problem??

It's driving me nutty!

Thanks,
Glade

I am not sure but here is a friendly suggestion. You may want to make smaller images in your signature. Combined the two images are 375KB, which is almost a 1/3 of a MEG!! These images really bog down those of us on dial-ups.

For example, the image in my signature is two images spliced together into one image and is only 35KB.

Just a friendly suggestion...I am not trying to be the signature police.

Hope you find your answer.

Sorry Blue,

Didn't realise they were that big. I will open up photo editor and shrink em down a few.
Thanks for the input :-)

There are only a "couple" things other than the headliner that touch the roof. Check to make sure your overhead is tight. (if you dont have a sunroof) You will need to remove the long screw above the mirror, and then open the reward most door and using a screwdrive pop loose the two halves(where the two colors meet) once you pull that down, there are two screws in the front of the black half, make sure they are tight, and make sure the foam pad on the rear half isnt your culprit. check to make sure the screws holding your light are tight (take off cover) check all the plugs in the rear of the headliner, and the 'hangers' make sure everthing is tight. If this dosent seem to do it, your headliner is probably rubbing on the roof (if it is the headliner making the noise)

Thanks Shark!
I do have the moonroof and have checked everything I can think of to isolate this noise. It may seem trivial to some, but I just payed 30K+ for the truck and want it perfecto
I'm going to see a service advisor and take him for a spin today I think. Hopefully we get it fixed!

Thanks again!

Glade, Did you find out what it was ? I have it on my 04 Screw also. It comes and goes. Does it over bumpy town streets and also if you "push up" quickly on the dome light. Then other times its gone. Anyone else ?

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same problem on my 04 truck and the service dept has taken a look at it supposedly but can't find any problem with it. I dont' have a sunroof. The sound comes from right around where my visor touches the headliner.
