Thumbs down Crappy "Ford" floormats

I feel really ripped off by the floor mats I just ordered from a dealer, just had to let someone know. First of all, they were $56!!,
and pretty flimsy. Then I put them in They won't stay in place, even with the screw in clip provided. The last set I bought were nice, heavy weight pieces, what happened? Just avoid them if you've planned on buying a set, they've gone downhill, bigtime ,,,,,98

Thumbs down

I'm so sorry to hear that 98! You've certainly spent a lot on your truck & I know you take great pride in it - justifiably so! Did you tell the dealer how bad they are? Maybe he can get you a better set at no charge. I hope you find a solution to this. Good luck.

Unhappy

Out of luck on that one,it was a Detroit dealer, and I'm in Louisville now . The last set I bought was
while I was in Tempe AZ,I'm wondering now if that dealer had them made custom. Those mats weighed nearly ten pounds a piece, and had the F-Series design embroidered on them. Guess I'll have to buy another set from somewhere else. Oh well,,,,,98

Sorry to hear about your experience. My used F150 didn't have mats so I went to the Parts shop at the Ford dealer to order. They didn't have samples, and the parts guy came up with several different mats to choose from sight unseen. I was lucky - I wanted the grommet to fit the floor hook and I picked the "F Series" mat which was one that had that feature. It is an OK mat. If Ford is listening, you would make us happier if you'd give the dealerships little sample mats we could look at before we order.

My 97 had nice heavy carpeted and rubber backing/w rubber spikes, 00 had a cheaper mat and the 01s are down right cheap. Same goes for the carpeting, if it gets any thinner, you'll tear it while getting into the truck...

The mats I bought are the Ford slush mats. They are heavy rubber with ribs and fit the Screw perfectly. They have the grommet hole but I've yet to need it, the nubs on the back hold quite well. $100.00 for front and rears from the dealer.

Ford now has "Catch All" mats available. They have the F150 logo and are available in factory interior colors. I recently purchased a set for my 2000 F150. They are made by "Catch All", but they fit much better than the mats sold directly by that company. They utilize the hook on the driver's side. I recently purchased a set and I am most happy with them. Retail price at your Ford dealer is $69.00.

I bought a set for the front at Wal-mart for $30. They are nice and heavy and will hold about a half gallon of water.
