I just bought a new 2000 F150 Lariat. I have never had a vehicle with leather before. How do I properly care for the leather so that it will look good and last for a long time? TIA for any advice

 

You need to clean and condition it regularly. Any auto parts store has many products. Many people here can advise you on what products and how often they do it. In my car, I use lexol 4 or so times a year and clean/touch up at times with The Tannery.

Here's another vote for Lexol. I use it on horse tack and the seats of my truck. The cleaner works really well and has even removed tree sap from the seats. The conditioner is good too and leaves that 'new leather' smell.

How about 1yr old leather seats that have seen better days? They have the shine and "older" look to them (they were not taken care of...I bought the truck used). Any way to resurrect them?

I use the conditioner from my Ford dealers and it works great. Best of all it is free!!!
To clean the interior I use tanner's leather cleaner, it also works great. I have had my Truck since July of 2000 and it still has that new smell inside.

 

Hey Guys, I tried Mequairs (spelling?) leather cleaner & conditioner on my seats the other day and so far I am very happy with the way it came out. I cant find Lexol here in town so I think I will stick with this for now.
