Angry Annoying Buzzer

Ive got a 99 F-150 with a problem. The same problem the rest of you have. That annoying beep-beep-beep, when the door is open. Has anyone figured out how to remove it?

Open the door, lay on floor and stick your head up under dash and locate the module and remove it. have done this myself on other vehicles.

Question

Blackened' let me know what you find, I have a friend with the same problem but is afraid to touch anything yet. His dealership won't help him either.

Cool

I decided to leave the buzzer attached.
To stop the annoying sound, I remove the key from the ignition...

I wasn't sure if the same buzzer was used to warn of other things...

Good luck

If you could get the stereo out! It sounds like the annoying buzzing is coming from just underneath it.

That box is also a headlamp on warning. If your truck is running, the chime is off.

Just seems a little pointless to me to have these "chimes". PS, if I have to lay on the floor for too long the door will have to be open, and with the buzzer going off while im trying to locate it, im liable to put my foot through it. Man I miss my '78. No chimes and ohh did it move!!

Thought I would look myself. kkirt is right it sounds like it behind the radio. As a last resort try messing with the position of your ignition switch when door is open and keys are in Acc. position. Sometimes you can find a happy medium where you still have power to acc. but no dinging.

I dont know guys. I took my dash halfway apart and it seems to me that the chimes are coming from behind the fuse box. Does not seem too easy to get it out either. Maybe ill try taking the radio out for the hell of it. Its really starting to drive me bananas!!

Thumbs down

When they build these fine trucks, I think they start with the buzzer and build the rest of the truck around it
Good Luck!
