Creaky Rear Slider...
hey everyone,
First off - this is not a leaky slider, it's a creaky one.
The clasp that holds my rear slider closed is creaking as I drive. And it's proximity to my noodle is making it increasingly annoying. If I open the slider just enough to 'un'clasp it - the creaking stops.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this or if they have any DIY fixit suggestions. I was thinking some non-petroleum grease or something.
Just thought I would put it out there to see what everyone thought.
Thanks

I don't have a solution to this problem, but I have noticed the same thing with my truck. If I open the window just enough to unclasp it the noise stops. I only noticed it after I installed my tonneau cover. Anyone have a quick fix?
Funny, becuase my current fix is the same thing, to open it just enough to unclasp it. However the other day, i noticed that if wide open, it makes a bit of noise too. I'm trying to remember when this started, i had done a 300km drive on a dirt road near the end of november, and was cleaning dust from the truck for ages, wondering if that may have had some dust get into the track.
I'm going to try to clean the track out when i can, and might use some non-petroleum lubricant (like for plumbing usage) depending on what it's made of. I haven't looked at it too closely yet, as it's still cold here.
I'll post my results.

Yes, maybe do what bambino said, or even possibly look into putting some foam or thin rubber padding where u think it is making noise. This is similar to the setup ive done on my cousins truck.
