Well I installed power seats from a junkyard, to replace the manual seats in my previous truck(95 Explorer), and they took a #50 torx socket. I just went to a local harware store and asked if I could try a couple of different sizes before I bought. It was a small local store where they know me as a frequent customer, wasn't a problem. They knew I wasn't going to walk away with a few sockets. One thing though, it is hard to find a store with a good selection of sockets. Especially wierd ones like the large torx sockets.

Good luck.

My 97 has a big Torx, much bigger than T-50 for the front seat. Don't think I have a bit that big to tell the number of.

I think it's a T55. One of those T50,55,or60 but the 60 is quite big.

This is what I do. I take something pliable, like clay, and take an impression of the screw in question. I take that to the tool place and match it to what I need.

This works great when I find that I have one of those "security" fasteners that require a special tool. If the parts store doesn't have it, the Snap On guy usually does.

I just tried the T-50 and its a little too small. My best guess would be the T-55 and possibly the T-60. Maybe you could buy the 55, and 60 and return the one you dont need.

I kind of do the same thing, when a fastener is hidden,I press the tip of my finger against the offending screw or bolt,to make an impression. Then you can see what tool is required. It's only marginally painful,lol,,,,98

BTW, I've helped somebody take out his seats to replace the seatbelt and let me tell you, you can't do it with a Torx screwdriver. It's gotta be one that fits on a socket wrench and you had better make sure it has a lifetime warranty because we ended up twisting it.
