Thumbs up Console install completed!

Just thought I'd close my conversation regarding the expy console purchase and install. I spent about 2 hours cleaning and getting the console ready for installation. I did not use the brackets or the base plates that came with the console. I wanted mine to sit snugly on the floor. I simply used existing holes in the console skeleton and approipriate sized self tapping screws to "nail it" directly to the floor. The install turned out great(about 3-4 hours of fitting and analizing how I was going to mount it), but am still not happy with some of the scratches on the plastic parts. I will probably order the top portion (cup holder piece) from the dealer and maybe that will make me feel better about the whole thing.

What did you do with the hole in the rear of the console? Where did you get the console? LMW? Do you have any pics?

I got the console from LMW and was a true 6 on their scale of 1-10. I have not done anything to the heater control hole in the back of the console but I am open for all and any suggestions.

Do you have the newer 2000 console? with the heater controls in the top front part of the cup holder? I am looking to trade my dark grey top cup holder/storage piece for one with the heater control mount.

SilverX: I do not have a 2000 console. My guess from the date stamping on the plastic pieces is that it's either a 98 or 99. The heater controls are in the rear of the console for those years. The cup holder portion does not have a heater control cut out. And to kkirt1: I did not take any pictures of the install. Sorry.

Thumbs up

Silver,
Nice custom paint on the Mantra! In fact, after a second look, lots of nice goodies on that ride, but those tires. Too slick for me
