Expy center console?
Ordered a console today from LWM. $89 + $25 for shipping UPS to Massachusetts. (Must be cheaper for the truck to bypass Mass on the way to Maine?) Asked why they were available to them and they informed me that they replace them with custom wood products and the occasional scratches were a result of the pile they are kept in. Said they would ship by Friday and should take about 5 days. Hope to have mine in after Halloween. Dennis

I had meant to thank BlueFlareside months ago for the inspiration to order the Expedition center console. I had to pay $50 shipping to Hawaii, but in the end it was well worth it. I'm very, very pleased with the outcome. If anyone does order from LVM be prepared to spend 2-3 hours cleaning up the unit. All of the steel components were rusty...mud, cobwebs and dead bugs everywhere...but a wire wheel, vacuum cleaner and a can of spray paint work wonders. The installation was uneventful, and the results are excellent. I did have to order a mounting bracket ($25) for my factory installed CD changer.

gah,
Glad that I could help! Mine was pretty dirty also and has a few minor scratches but after I cleaned it up you cannot even see them. It sure beats paying $400-$600 for a new one!!!

Hmm, that's interseting that they would total Expys b/c of their tires, to my knowledge, not a single Expy came with the "death tires". They all have 16" or larger wheels right?

Got my console installed over the weekend. Thought I would post info regarding the relocation of the CD stacker.
First, thanks to FedExPilot & BlueFlareside over at the SuperCrew forum for the valuable info they provided.
Hang on, this is a long story! To remove the CD stacker from behind the driver door and left rear seat I soon realized the following had to be removed from the vehicle:
Driver door threshold trim, door gasket, window hold open clip, seatbelts, rear seat and back, upper and lower plastic trim panels, cd stacker and bracket, and finally the passenger and 3rd door threshold trim.
The carpet had to be pulled back to access the wire harness which is threaded down the passenger side along with the speaker wires. I then had to unravel the harness tape from the left rear speaker wires all the way back to the far right side and then snake the cd wire harness under the carpet to the console.
Once there, I soon discovered the cd stacker mounting brackets from the Expy console were for a smaller stacker. I had to cut away the rear portion and redrill the screw and wire holes. It then fit in perfectly without a noticable shaking. I also have an additional trim piece over the top of my stacker that I did'nt see in FedExPilot's pictures that concealed the modification well. Very happy with it!
Everything was reinstalled without a hitch. Only complaint is the variety of (metric) tools required for the job. Overall, I spent approx. 3-4 hours doing the work.
Again, thanks guy's for the help!

Where did you get the bracket from? I want to mount a changer in the console of my expedition. Thanks in advance!

troy98expo;
I think your question (above) was directed to GAH. I did the same mod - - ordered the mounting bracket from my friendly Ford dealer parts counter - - have them check under 99 Expy parts listing - - assuming you used a 97-99 center console. There is also an additional piece of cover trim you can order (I didn't).

Glad to see this post renewed however maybe the discussion should go to the new post and use this one for reference. Damn thing takes to long to load :>(
LWM sent the CD brackets with my purchase but wether or not it from the original console I can't answer. I was also asked for my model information at the time of purchase. I guess I got the right console.
As far as the arm rests are concerned, I find it difficult to buckle the seat belts without first folding the arm rests in the up posistion and then returning to the arm rest position after the connection.
