Question Dirty dash?

I picked up my new F150 yesterday and was a little disappointed with it. The dash has is very dirty. Mixed in with the grey color of the dash is some nice brown stains. I tried real quickly to take a wet rag and wipe out the brown but it did not come out. I don't want to use any cleaners that will make the dash look shinny or greasy. Does any one have any ideas on how I can get these stains out? The truck had 16 miles on it when I picked it up. Don't know if it matters either but it is a Lightning.

Thanks for any help

John

Not a problem.

The door handles will pick up an unbelievable amount of grime -- makes me think I'm moonlighting as a mechanic again.

Stop by Ford's parts counter and pick up a 16-oz squirt-bottle of their "Spot and Stain Remover" (pn F3AZ-19521-WA).

Like SimpleGreen works for camper exteriors, this stuff just works great on vinyl interiors (not slimy, either).

(Ford -- send my promo check to my home address, please.)

Cool

I use the Ford vinyl cleaner. Everything else seems to soak into the plastic dash
and door panels and remove the color!!
I couldn't believe it but the color of the dash was coming off onto the terry cloth
I was using. This stuff works great and
leaves the interior looking new,, That sort
of semigloss sheen,,,,,,hope your stains
aren't permanent,,,,that would be,,bad,,98

You should have showed the dealer before you drove it off the lot that the truck wasn't clean. I don't know if you can do anything about it now since you drove it off the lot but give them hell about it and maybe they'll take care of it.

When I bought my first F-150, a 97 SC, Simmons Ford of Vicksburg included a nice packet of goodies which included a bottle of touch-up paint, free oil-change certificate, a couple of other things, a tank of gas, and a bottle of that spray cleaner.

'Been using the cleaner ever since. It gets the grime off the door handles (arm rests) where nothing else will.

Unhappy

I was detailing a BMW one time, and sprayed some Tuff Stuff on the carpet to clean it . I almost had to buy the guy a new center console. It caused the adhesive holding the vinyl onto the lower
part of the console to release. That stuff
is deadly, stay away from it,you guys.

I have those same spots. They were there when I test drove my truck. I thought they would clean it for delivery a little better, but I guess not. I never got around to taking it back in, so I'll try that Ford cleaner. Can you buy it online, or do I have to go to the dealer?
