Removing Smells

What products do you guys use to remove odors inside your cab? I've tried Febreeze, but it doesn't work as well in the truck as it does in the house.

Any ideas?

depends on the nature of the odor.

If something has been spilled on the seat/carpet or its BO from sweating on the seat you need to shampoo them.

If its mildew from the vents you can get a deodorizer that goes in the intake at the base of the windshield.

If it smells like fart, just open the window it will go away on its own.

The trick is to remove the source of the odor, not mask it.

Wally World sells Febreeze for autos. It has a different scent than the household product. Give that a try, it might work okay for you.

Thanks guys! I bought some of the Meguiars Odor Eliminator. We'll see how it goes. (I'll keep the windows down too.)

My Lariat came with a really cool automatic odor eliminator. Whenever I notice a particular "odor" while driving, my right window magically goes down on its own ( helped of course by my right seat rev limiter!)

Let us know how that stuff works for you... I've never tried it but have had it in my hands at various stores on multiple occasions...

I use a product called Ozium. I think I bought my last can at one of those car wash locations, but you can probably get it where car products are sold.

It works!!
I've use lysol, orange air freshner and other stuff.. Hydrocide tops them all.
Check with you local carpet cleaning place, They should have it.. A few onces
in a large spray bottle fill with water will do it.

This might sound wierd but it works. Say your buddy got sprayed by a skunk and jumps in your truck. Sprinkle feminine (douche) powder on the carpets and seats let sit and vacume repeat if needed. It gets rid of the bad smells and makes your vehicle smell ....fresh

You'll be amazed at what you will buy when a portapotty at a chilie contest smells better than the interior of your truck.

If I send you the money, would you go to the store and by the douche powder for me?

Just do a Homer Simpson. Walk up to the convience store clerk and say " I would like a bottle of whiskey, some condoms, .....some of those nudie magazines and ummmm some illegal fireworks." Just instead of illegal fireworks place douche powder.

If people in line give you a wierd look just say it goes great on ice cream.

i have a bissel little green machine, about $60.00 from Wal-Mart. It takes several hours to do my SuperCrew, but once done it smells good. I then hit it with some Febreeze and it lasts a while. I do this once a year or so. To give you an idea of what it will eliminate, I went to the grocery store and bought some milk. Well the milk slid out of the bag on its side and stayed under the rear seat. About 3 days later when looking for the milk for my cereal I couldn't find it. Some milk leaked out of the container on the carpet and it smelled like A$$! I promptly purchased the little green machine and some resolve carpet cleaner and it completely wiped out the odor. It did take most of a Saturday though, but well worth it. Even removes coffee stains, though the orange soda stain wouldn't budge
