I have had my truck for a few months now and I've washed it several times of course, however I have avoided putting anything on the dash or vinyl because I don't know of a good product. Does anyone know of one? I really don't want that slick greasy high gloss look and feel, I'm mainly concerned with protection.

 

I agree with having a satin non greasy look!I use a product called 303 aerospace protectant.I found it at a specialty shop,but I'm sure you can find it at many different stores and I think they also have a web site.I like the product because it bonds to the surface and lasts a long time.

You could use just straight silicone spray. It will "nourish" the plastics, and not look too shiny. I use it in my engine compartment, and it makes everything look like new plastic. No slime look or grease.

Lexol has a product called VinylX which is great. Was recommended highly by some detailing websited that I have visited.

 

While not scientific evidence -- the only car that I've owned where the dashboard cracked and shrunk was my 1984 GMC Suburban -- and it is the only vehicle for which I regularly used Armor All.

Armor All was specifically listed on the 'Do not use' warning for my tonneau covers.

I removed the plastic panel (covering the gauges) of my '87 Escort and carefully cleaned it on both sides and applied computer-screen anti-static spray. The dashboard would get dusty but the clear plastic almost never needed cleaning -- since it seemed to repel dust.
