Question Carpet Cleaner????

Hey what have people used to clean carpets in their vehicles. I just bought a 97F150 XLT, Exterior is mint but the previous owner had kids and did not have rear mats, soooo.... nice stained carpet..... I have rented a steam cleaner before and gotten good results but the question is always what solution or chemical to use? Any ideas?

You can also try the carpet shampoo you get at the market with the rental shampooers.
Do about a square foot at a time, use a brush with lots of solution and suck it up with a shop vac, then finish drying and even out the "mat" with a towel or chamois.

Cool

Here's a good cheap product.

"Tuff Stuff"

Spray it on, wait a few seconds, and scrub it with a cloth or sponge.
This stuff even took pop out of the headliner without it turning loose.
(and the dealer said they couldn't get the headliner clean! HAH!)

Thumbs up

I highly, highly recommend Blue Coral Carpet Dry Cleaner. Its a purplish liquid and removes stains. We even use it in the house as it is just EXCELLENT for removing stains. Oh, I don't work for them. 5 times better than tuff stuff. It has taken out stains that we tried everything else on---Bob

Available at Pep Boys or other car stores.

I have to recommend the Blue Coral Dri-Clean too. I've used it on two Med graphite interiors, a tan, and a red interior and it works great. I've also used a little Windex before with some good results.

If you use the Dri-Clean it may be in your best interest to invest in an "interior brush", I bought one at Walmart by "Detailers Choice" and it really works the stuff in good. It's a small red brush with STIFF yellow bristles.

Good Luck

All above suggestions are great. I also found that Lifter 1 works good on those trouble spots.
