Post Cupholder not deploying

I have a '98 with the in-dash cupholder that you push to deploy. (Standard.) After a trip down a VERY dusty set of farm roads yesterday, it no longer deploys when I push it--have to pull it out. How can I get back there and fix it? Any way to do this without taking apart the dash?

Thanks,

Mike

Did you ever figure out how to remove the cupholder?

I had the same problem with mine. It turns out that the spring on the back of the cupholder had fallen off (fell off while I was riding down the highway). I just superglued it back up there and it works perfectly again now.

If I remember correctly you have to push on some tabs that are on the rails that the cupholder slides on. It isn't too hard to figure out.
